We have just enjoyed another successful Essay Writing Technique Course at the College. We moved into the main lecture theatre which proved to be an excellent venue and had the luxury of an empty RCOG for the whole weekend and our choice of rooms for the mock exam on the Sunday.

The mock exam went down well and many delegates left feeling positive having tried the new Teale Fenning tricks. Many of you struggled which is to be expected but it is early days and you have several weeks to fine tune your bubbling and essay writing. Stay positive and practice. You can expect your marked essays back in the next two weeks together with detailed personal feedback that will help you identify your weak spots and focus your efforts. I will be particularly interested to see how everyone got on with the 'vulvodynia' question which was a horror! Hopefully you will have stuck to the Teale Fenning approach and rules and secured yourself and easy pass - we will have to wait and see.

As disucssed over the weekend I recommend you use this forum to prepare marking schemes for each other. One of you needs to suggest an essay and then maybe 3 or 4 of you can have a go at writing a marking scheme. We will edit the final versions to create a 'gold standard' but the 3 or 4 different versions will serve to remind you that you can have a multitude of schemes for each and every essay. You do not know what is on the College schemes so have to plan to answer 3 or 4 versions yourselves! Painful but true. It is achievable however and if you have a go you will soon see how easy it is I promise.

This site will be as good as you make it. Go for it and collectively you can make this the number one e-venue for the MRCOG.
