Hx:
. severity
. symptoms of abdominal pain, bone pain, haematuria
. previous pregnancy / complications
. previous surgical history / splenectomy
.

Invest.:
. FBC
. Rubella status
. HIV / hepatitis
. MSU analysis
. dating US [ if she is pregnant ]


She comes with abdo pain and fever, what is ur differential diagnosis, what will be ur management

D.Dx:
. sequestration crisis / splenic sequestration
. thrombo-occlusive crises
. abruption placenta

Mx:
. good analgesia
. Re hydration
. O2
. monitoring
. CTG, US
. manage accordingly

She was found to have UTI which was treated , now at 38/40 spontaneous labour , what will be intrapartum and postpartum care

Intrapartum :
. avoid dehydration
. adequate analgesia
. antibiotic cover
. vigilant monitoring
. continuous CTG
. Os on need

PPMx:

. MSU for C&S, Antibiotic accordingly
. analgesia [ avoid reducing agent ]
. care of perineum
. haemoglubinopharesis for the baby / chromosomal analysis/ SCA is autosomal recessive disease
