Here is one of the Gynaecology short answer essays from September 2006.
You are asked to see a woman with a proven ectopic pregnancy (tubal) in EPAC. She is stable. What are the options for:
Conservative management? (6 marks)
Medical management (8 marks)
Surgical management (6 marks)
Not sure of the exact marks but have been told by a few people that there were more marks for the medical management which seems strange but there you go.
Make sure you respect the words "stable" and "tubal" - there is no urgency here and we are not dealing with a cornual, caesarean, or other unusual form of ectopic!
So - have a go ... _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
