The RCOG has announced plans to increase its internet-based learning opportunities. The internet will become an increasingly important resource for all forms of learning so this is an encouraging move. The College website is to be expanded so an increasing amount of information is available to trainees and College members and fellows.

The College said “There is no doubt that today’s students – and tomorrow’s doctors – are moving away from the old methods of teaching, which are traditionally arranged for the convenience of the teacher, to e-learning, with interactive educational material and email assistance, which will be available to the student at whatever time he or she finds convenient. The benefits of this will also extend to our many existing and future Members and Fellows overseas and to the (many) UK Members and Fellows whose Trusts are now refusing them study leave and/or funding for educational purposes”.
