- a sharp increase in insulin requirements : intrauterine death in last 4 weeks
Intrauterine death is asociated with shrap decrease in requirement.Isn't it? |

yes it is sharp decrease in requirement. the thought process is that requirement drops because the diabetogenic placental hormones start reducing, due to placental aging. even a small decrease in placental function may be significant in its inability to support a big baby of a diabetic mother.
there have been studies contesting this theory though. if i come across anything concrete will post again.
