Primigravida with Blood pressure 150/100 mmHg and 4 g /24 hr protienuria.....a rised concentration of fibrin degradation products would be consistant with her findings......
Rised FDPs is a sign of DIC.so could be consistent with her findings...True |

FALSE
both FDP and D-dimer are non specific and may be raised in normal as well as other high risk situations.
hence it does not make sense that there will be a predictable co-relation between the two. _________________ Dr Miss. Raj Walavalkar MBBS MRCOG

I agree ... 'consistent with' is a little like 'recognised' in that it means there is a possible link. It does not mean expected, characteristic, diagnostic, etc
Do you also see increased FDPs with HELLP? That would be another reason to say true although DIC is enough. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
