Just a quick question
How many of our overseas colleagues are planning to sit MRCOG Part 1 next year?
We are launching courses in Dubai (February) and Malaysia (July) as you know but I am worried that the new rules regarding job prospects in the UK for non-Europeans will dramatically reduce the number of people taking this exam. However, they have also removed exemption from Part 1 so this may balance the books.
Please post here or take the poll so we have an idea of what we may see next year. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |

Hi Nick,
In Malaysia, the Part 1 MRCOG is currently recognised by the local Masters program and candidates with Part 1 are exempted from the local Masters part 1. So, MRCOG Part 1 will continue to be popular as long as this recognition continues. _________________ Mei Lin HOO

Dear MRCOG part 1 candidates,
Hi! I wonder whether there are candidates in southeast Asia that are keen to join the MRCOG part 1 course in Malaysia.
The reason I am asking is because Nick and I are toying with the idea of running a 2 day course in Kuala Lumpur for the MRCOG part 1 candidates.
As far as I know, MRCOG part 1 is recognised in Malaysia and can serve as an exemption for the Master part 1 exam (but not vice versa anymore since 2007). So, it is a good investment if you are interested to do both the MRCOG exam and the master programme at the same time.
The gazettement period after MRCOG part 2 exam & MOG part 2 is the same (6 months). I have also heard that the number of openning for the master programme has dropped this year. So, maybe it does make sense to take up MRCOG after all.
Please do let us know if there is a request. The proposed date is from 30 June to 1st July.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
