| The new CEMACH has just come out. Will we be expected to know the contents of this one for the exam of March 2008? Someone told me that all th e questions are made 6 months before the exam. If that's true, that would mean the questions were ready before the new CEMACH came out. |

hi,
yes the questions would have been set 6 months previously. but cemach is a very important document. i agree there is not much time to read the whole of it now, but i'd think reading the summary atleast should be possible.
if i did the exam, i would not go in with out knowing the main points on cemach.

The questions are often 3 years old or more!!
This is why Shaw, Dewhurst etc remain good reference texts for the MCQ paper. There will be new questions of course but the bank of questions is relied on as there needs to be a different but equivalent exam every 6 months that is not repeated for 3 years.
Your informant should be shot ... or just updated |

Never a bad thing - post as many links as you want.
If you want to make the link appear as text (any text you want that is) rather than the formal url you do the following:
Type write your text here
So for your one you do this:
text goes here [... see below]
now ... I have not finished this otherwise you would not see the methodology but if you simply add /url in brackets at the end it will work. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |

Fantastic. Thanks.
I have been trying the URL botton on the top but it didn't help. now I notice that it gives the syntax when you move the mouse over the botton.
I once started learning HTML (from my favorite series "for dummies") I think I managed to read the introduction
I wonder why they don't do one of their series for part two (Obs and Gynae for Dummies). May be because the name would be contraversial
Very much looking forward to meeting you. S |

I think there is a market for this both for medical students and postgraduates.
Let's talk when we meet. |

Thanks for the CEMACH link!! I will order the book as well, but not untill after March; I know myself, will just end up reading the entire thing rather than concentrating on the summary once I have it.
Really liking the "for dummies" idea! Would be delighted to be envolved if you're taking this idea any further and you'd like some help.

Absolutely ... I mentioned this at this weekends Essay Technique Course. It would be a great help and excellent reference material plus nothing like that exists. |
