Despite being very familiar with Powerpoint I still pick up new tips and tricks every few weeks.
This is an obvious one I am sure you all know but I wish I had known earlier.
If you have lots and lots of presentations, as I do, you will inevitably have different backgrounds. You will, from time to time, want to use several slides from a different presentation. Most people simply copy and paste the slides but this automatically makes the new slides adopt the background of the new presentation. This can be a real pain if you have different fonts and colours.
The trick is to import the slides as follows:
1. make a copy of the presentation with the slides in that you want to copy
2. rename this as a revised or shortened version to ensure you do not lose any information (easy to do )
3. open the new presentation you wish to put these slides into and go to the position you want them
4. go to "insert" and then scroll down to "insert slides from file"
5. browse to find the new file you saved and renamed in steps 1 & 2
6. select this file and then check "keep source formatting" in the bottom left hand of the pop up screen
7. click "insert all" and jobs done!
Hope that helps some of you! _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
