|

The 5th September is not that far away!
37 days in fact
Thought it might be a good idea to see if any of you had some top predictions for the short answer paper.
I have a few, all of which we will cover on the Essay Practice Course on the 12th & 13th August but I would still like to hear your thoughts.
For now ....
Teenage pregnancy is topical - you could be asked how to address this issue i.e. 'prevent'
The NICE fertility guideline has not really been addressed particularly the assessment of a subfertile couple or the treatment of unexplained subfertility
The oncologists have been quiet recently - how about cancer of the vulva or maybe cervix - cervical cancer in pregnancy would be interesting as would breast!
Family planning is featuring more and more but I predict you will be asked about this in conjunction with a medical disorder such as epilepsy, diabetes, sickle cell, cardiac disease, thrombophilia, inflammatory bowel disease i.e. counselling of an epileptic who requires contraception
If you don't get a contraception question featuring a medical disorder I am certain you will get one in the Obstetric paper.
I also think you will a generic question about surgery (materials, incisions, complicatiosn etc) or maybe consent. A bit like the antibiotic question last time.
Food for thought ... _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |

Let's get 2006 out of the way first
If we try and spot 10 questions we may well get some for this and the next exam anyway. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
