I am very interested to know if the new training schemes for O&G and the academic one in particular will have any effect on the number of people choosing to do an MD or PhD.
I choose to do a higher degree as I wanted to be sure of a sub-speciality post and found out that I really enjoyed academic medicine. I eventually opted for a Senior Lecturer's post and did not sub-specialise and am really enjoying my post. I would never have taken the job if I had not spent some time doing research and I would never have done any research if I thought I would have got a sub-spec job without it!
Let us know your viewpoint and take the poll. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
