YES
......Possible outcomes in OP position include-
1. Persistent OP as above
2. Deep transverse Arrest
3. Rotate to OA position
4. Of course can be manually rotated
5 Deliver by ventouse |

I can add the following percentages:

......Possible outcomes in OP position include-
1. Persistent OP as above 10-15%
2. Deep transverse Arrest...15%
3. Rotate to OA position ...65%
4. Of course can be manually rotated
5 Deliver by ventouse |
but still my query ://less than 10% will deliver spontanously face to pupis....T/F... because the no 10 is border line...
can any one help.. |

| I thought that Persistent Occipitoposterior can be ROP, LOP, and direct OP. Isn't direct OP the same as Face to pubis? |

This mean that Persistent Occipitoposterior (10-15%)=ROP, LOP, and direct OP and only direct OP will deliver face to pubis...this make the sentence to be right or True that less than 10 % deliver face to pubis...
thanks...mridulaben..sharing information can lead to the correct answer. |

If I understand this thread correctly I would add that face to pubis / pubes (as the majority of midwives call it) refers to OP position but as defined by abdominal appearances and examination and may describe ROP, LOP, and direct OP therefore.
Not sure about the figure but certainly less than than 10% of persistent OPs (regardless of being LOP, ROP, or DOP) deliver spontaneously. Think about your clinical experience when you get asked such questions. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
