TRUE OR FALSE

Epileptic women can be reassured that they don’t have an increased risk of having a baby with congenital abnormalities once they have stopped antiepileptic medication 2 years before conception.

Vit K should be administered for a minimum period of 6 weeks before delivery to prevent Haemorrhagic disease of newborn.

Randomized trails have proved that 5 mg folic acid taken by epileptic women reduces the incidence of congenital abnormalities.

50 % women experience increased seizure frequency during pregnancy.

COCP is not safe contraceptive for women taking sodium valproate.

Estimation of salivary anticonvulsant conc is more reliable than estimation of blood concentration in monitoring drug dosage.

IUGR is a recognized feature in mothers taking antiepileptic medication.

    Sodium valproate
    Benzodiazepines
    Lamotrigine
    Tiagabine
    Vigabatrin
    Gabapentin
    Levetiracetam

AEDs which interfere with hormonal contraception
    Phenytoin
    Phenobarbitone
    Carbamazepine
    Oxcarbazepine
    Topiramate
