| Theoretically true. Menorrhagia accounts for 50% of hysterectomies performed in the UK. Therefore with a 100% success (or satisfaction rate) of an ablative method you could avoid 50% of all hysterectomies. Till today there is no such method therefore I'd say false. Despite the advances in conservative surgery for menorrhagia, the hysterectomy rate is mostly unaffected |

You need to read, or have just read, the recent NICE Guideline launch realting to Heavy Menstrual Bleeding (HMB).
I read a review in the Times this morning at the airport, following the launch, and it said we should be aiming for 20% so a 50% reduction would seem about right.
