CVS is associated with higher false positive rates than amniocentesis
CVS is associated with 2% risk of miscarriage.
Regarding CVS transabdominal route has higher rate of miscarriage than transcervical route.
CVS is contraindicated in women with hepatitis C.
CVS may diagnose a chromosome abnormality not expressed in the fetus.
CVS increases the risk of limb reduction deformities. |

4.False (RCOG guidleine) Invasive testing can be done in 1st/2nd trimester in women carrying Hep B/C but limitiation of available data should be explained. testing shoud be avoided in HIV positive women particularly in 3rd trimester.

6.False ( Limb deformities are increased only if CVS is done before 10 weeks) |

I think these are both TRUE due to placental mosaicism. |

This is FALSE and this is an important one to remember as many people still get this wrong on our courses. |
