In a woman with antiphospholipid antibodies, the addition of the following would be sufficient to make a diagnosis of the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS):

(a) Pre-eclampsia requiring induction of labour at 37 weeks gestation
(b) Deep venous thrombosis
(c) Intrauterine fetal death at 24 weeks gestation
(d) Preterm labour at 30 weeks
(e) Three consecutive miscarriages in the first trimester

The following blood changes are helpful in the diagnosis of a systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) flare during pregnancy:

(a) Raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate
(b) A rise in double-stranded (ds) DNA titres
(c) A fall in C3 levels
(d) A rise in uric acid levels
(e) A rise in alanine aminotransferase

EhlerseDanlos syndrome is associated with the following pregnancy complications:

(a) Preterm rupture of membranes
(b) Uterine rupture
(c) Fetal congenital heart block
(d) Perineal breakdown
(e) Internal haemorrhage

EhlerseDanlos syndrome is associated with the following pregnancy complications:

(a) Preterm rupture of membranes TRUE
(b) Uterine rupture TRUE
(c) Fetal congenital heart block ? NOT SURE
(d) Perineal breakdown TRUE also poor wound healing after c section
(e) Internal haemorrhage TRUE
