well this is one more of my sister's questions. and she asked me to chose from azithromycin and triple therapy ( cef + met + doxy ).
i went for triple therapy and where she got the question from says it should me azithromycin.
so now i wonder which??

I don't think Azith is more effective but i guess thy probably mean noncompliance with treatment as one possible reason for rec inf in which case Azithro will be better.
I guess the reasons for rec chlamydial infestion are
- high risk sexual behaviour
- inclomplete treatment or non treatment of sexual partner (sssss)
- intercourse during treatment, they should be told not to have intercourse, not even with condom during treatment.
- non-compliance with treatment or not completing the treatment
- re infection
I don't think resistance is a big problem with C. Trachomatis, or is it?
I think they should put some doxy in the water like they do with floride, that should solve the problem, at least in Portsmouth . |

i am sure the PCT and GUM clinic will be thankful for that, must spk to the council at their next general body meeting or something.
your reasoning for azith makes sense though. let's see what nick's verdict is.
