|
|
The following are all recognised causes of vulval ulceration:
Herpes simplex
Aphthous ulcers
Behcet’s disease
Lipschutz (? Epstein-Barr virus)
Chancroid (Haemophilus ducreyi)
Crohn’s disease
Primary syphilis (chancre) * not secondary
Donavanosis
Tuberculosis
Stevens-Johnson syndromes
Dermatitis artefacta
Benign mucous membrane pemphigoid
Pyoderma gangrenosum
Histiocytosis X
Granuloma inguinale
Granular cell myoblastoma
Hidradenoma
Carcinoma
Hope that helps
The College seem to love the vulva and have a special interest in things that cause it to ulcerate _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |

Thanks Raj - that's a great list
One question the College like to ask is which of your vulval lesions are cystic and which are solid?
Do you know? |

You are the font of all knowledge
Great work - excellent lists.
I wish I had these when I was taking Part 2. It may seem an easy thing to do but it takes time resourcing these lists so thanks for being kind enough to share your hard work with everyone. I am sure they appreciate it. _________________ "Teale Fenning Medical Education" delivering evidence-based, exam-orientated learning since 1997 |
