Diagnostic Criteria for Anorexia Nervosaa
1. Refusal to maintain body weight at or above a minimally normal weight for height and age.(Weight is consistently less than 85% of that expected)
2. Intense fear of gaining weight or being fat, even though underweight.
3. Disturbance in the way in which one’s body weight or shape is experienced, undue influence of body weight or shape on self-evaluation, or denial of the seriousness of the current low body weight.
4. Amenorrhea(abnormal absence of a minimum of three successive menstrual cycles)
♦ Restrictive subtype: the person has not regularly engaged in binge-eating or purging behavior (weight is mainly controlled by restricting oral intake)
♦ Binge-eating/purging subtype: patient regularly engages in binge eating and/or purging (e.g. self-induced vomiting,misuse of laxatives)

Hormone Values in Anorexia Nervosa
Low -FSH, LH,Estradiol, Leptin, IGF-1,DHEAS
Normal -TSH, Prolactin, ACTH
High -Serum total cortisol, Serum free cortisol, 24h urinary free cortisol
