agree with Xerxes -- all false.
the question reads ' characterised by '
none of the stems are characteristic of TV.
can one of you attempt to match them up with the most possible cause???
please read the question in the exam.

I agree with you both but think fissure formation and oedema is true. It is not seen in most so would not be charateristic if we said this meant one would expect to see it in > 50% but it is a feature of TV that is not really seen with other infections. If I said to you she had 'fissures and marked vulval oedema' you would definitely say = TV and for that reason I am sticking with true.
The others are false. |

So what would be characterised by a blood stained discharge? I couldn't think of any other infections that cause the discharge to be bloody, so I said true...
A woman of reproductive age wouldn't have atrophic vaginitis and wouldn't have a foreign body. It's not typical of candida, BV, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, PID, herpes.
Any suggestions? |

| Oh, maybe cervical cancer could typically cause bloody vaginal discharge. Or an endometrial polyp perhaps. |

Yes but do not reverse the question inappropriately.
This is about TV and discharge and not asking for causes of blood stained discharge - that is very different.
